The Masks of Wendy Drolma

wendydrolma.com

The tradition of mask-making is as old as the history of man.  For some reason, there is a need for humans to hide their faces.  This could be because of shame-based learned behaviour (out of the scope of this present article) or it may be attached to an erotic tradtion that unites all of mankind’s history (see above) or maybe because humans enjoy becoming art (see all of the above!) in any event, its a wonderful thing that Wendy Drolma has her studio in Phoenicia, NY!  She is one of so many artists who make the Catskills their home!
